Overview:
Quaint New England towns, gorgeous views of the Berkshire Hills, and an abundance of outdoor activities await you along the Mohawk Trail, one of the country's oldest scenic routes.

For those wanting to explore nature up close, be sure to check out the High Ledges Wildlife Sanctuary and the Mohawk Trail State Forest. The latter features picturesque waterfalls and is the perfect spot to hike, fish, and camp. With multiple rivers near the Mohawk Trail, visitors can enjoy kayaking, canoeing, and whitewater rafting. Additional scenic viewpoints can be found at the route's Eastern Summit in Florida and Western Summit in North Adams.

Aside from the stunning landscape, be sure to check out the many historic buildings and unique shops in towns such as Greenfield, Montague, North Adams, and Williamstown. North Adams is also home to the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art (Mass MOCA).
